How To Achieve What You've Always Dreamed OfThere are only two words that describe people who fulfill their dreams. PASSION and DETERMINATION If you have passion but no determination then you end up like a lot of people moaning about what could have been. And, telling the world that someone else, who is successful, stole your ideas. If you have determination and no passion you can be very successful but it shows on your face and in your general manner. That is you look tired and stressed and have no real love for the work you are doing. If you are doing something you are passionate about and you are determined to be the best then success naturally comes. And you feel good too. To be successful and enjoy life you need both: Passion and Determination. There are no overnight successes. They are people who have come into the light after many years of pursuing their passion with determination. The great boxer, Mohammed Ali summed it up in these words; “The fight is won or lost far away from witnesses - behind the lines, in the gym, and out there on the road, long before I dance under those lights.” Now, what about you? What’s your passion? What is it that lights you up whenever you talk about it whenever you think about it? What is it that you really, REALLY want to do with your life? What do you feel is missing in your life? Each of us is unique so each of us has a different love, a different thing that makes us feel complete and content. What’s yours? Perhaps you’re like Stephen Waring whose passion was to have a life where he wasn’t a slave to work. He was determined to run a successful business. He started by following his father into the insulation business until he found himself in the US talking to a guy about treating lawns. When he returned to the UK he mixed several types of fertilisers together which turned his parents’ lawn, black, brown and most other colours until he eventually found the mix that made it green. Now he just needed to convince the British public that they needed this new service!! He had to sell them the idea that the rain wasn’t enough to make your grass green. He then set about knocking on doors to build the business. Now, 20 years later, he has sales of £25m and he only works three-and-a-half days a week and spends every winter in Florida with his family. What do you like doing? Once you have identified your passion. All you need is the determination to become good at it. The result: SUCCESS. In our experience you don’t need effort. You don’t need to work hard. When we’re doing something we love we’ve noticed that we don’t notice the time we’ve put in. We don’t clock watch. Meal times pass us by. It gets dark before we realise it. The dog has to disturb us in some way in order to be let out or fed. In other words when you are passionate about something and are determined to succeed you just get on with it. It’s a JOY. Therefore if you feel your life is an effort. If you feel as though you’re not enjoying yourself every day the chances are you are not doing what you want to do. You may not be doing what you were sent on this planet to do. It’s not about abandoning all you have achieved it’s about finding a way of doing whatever it is that will make you happy, and at the same time bringing in enough revenue to meet your needs. What does it take to get you to stop reading and discussing the issue and to sit up and do something with your life? Ask yourself: What’s my passion? Now: Can I do this tomorrow? If the answer is NO: What do you need to do first. What’s the next step? If you get the thought; I can’t do what I want because I need someone else to do something first. Then stop. Ask yourself the question Is there another way? You don’t have to climb over every obstacle. You can go round them!! Once you have identified what you want to do with your life. Your passion. Keep asking yourself, Can I do it tomorrow? No. Then what do I need to do today. What small step can I take? What small step can I take that will lead me to my dream? The more you keep going on this cycle the clearer the next step will become. The penny will drop and then you will know what you need to do to reach your dream. Now it’s all down to determination.
