Neglect Your New Network Marketing Start Up At Your Own Peril

Have you ever seen a neglected car or derelict house? Both of these can be valuable if given a little TLC. With the car a wash, check the oil, brake fluid or a service would make all the difference. Same with a house, a coat of paint or the yard tidied up. Repair that broken gutter.

What about relationships: spouse, children, parents or broken friendships? Will these fall apart if neglected or you don’t pay any attention to them?

No doubt. There is plenty of proof. Look around you.

Well, let’s take a look at your new home based business or network marketing start up organization. To start with there was energy and enthusiasm. You introduced a few new distributors and some customers, however the novelty wore off. You haven’t made a million dollars – yet. Discouragement sets in and you move on to ‘greener’ pastures.

What do you think happens to those new distributors and customers? They too will eventually move on – yet how different this could be with only a small amount of continued effort and a ‘little’ TLC.

A Friendly Phone Call:

Over time, you call to say ‘hi’ with no ulterior motive of ‘getting more business,’ simply genuine interest in how things are going for your new distributor or customer.

While chatting a little, you realize that maybe they or someone they know, have a ‘problem’ and your product or business could really ‘add value’ and go a long way to solving their ‘problem’. Do you rush in and ‘tell’ them that ‘you have just got the thing for them’ and start ‘pushing’ it onto them? I hope not!

How about continuing your friendly conversation and simply ask if they’d really like to do something about their problem. STOP! And wait. Wait for their answer and you’d better LISTEN real close to what they say. (Understand that you can often get a veiled NO, they really don’t want to do something about it – they are quite happy just complaining about it!) Their response will determine if you offer a suggested solution to their problem or you ignore it and move on.

An Article, Newsletter or Note

Keeping in touch with a friendly note accompanied by a newsletter or article on a topic that you know they will find of interest. (Remember if you only have a handful of customers and a few distributors this should be easy and doable). Show that ‘personal’ touch that is sooooo lacking when you deal with the large corporations. This along will make you stand out from the ‘crowd’.

Appreciation and Gratitude

All too often I have seen people with their new network marketing start up earning a small but regular cheque, show a lack of appreciation for these small cheques by neglecting their customers and associates.

Yet these small cheques often gives them their product for ‘free’ or ‘nearly for free’ – also, it is from an acorn that a giant tree can grow – but it MUST have water to grow.

Now with these TWO ideas, what would happen if EVERYONE in your ‘small’ home based business did the same thing with their ‘small’ home based business? What sort of retention would you have? Would you start to see growth? Would that make a difference to your income?

After all, that is the basis of network marketing: Relationships and Everyone Doing a Little.
